What you need to know
Here's everything you need to know before we begin. This includes the fees, cancellation policy and some frequently asked questions.
I strive to make therapy as accessible as possible, with fees intentionally set below the rates recommended by the Australian Psychological Society ($318) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc ($330).
Standard hours (Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm)
Initial assessment (80 min): $280
Subsequent sessions (50 min): $265
After hours, early mornings and weekends
Initial assessment (80 min): $300
Subsequent sessions (50 min): $280
*Concession rates may be available, please reach out to discuss.
What It Cost.
Clients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $149.05 per session (as of 1 July 2026), bringing a standard session to around $115.95 out of pocket.
Out of pocket fees may vary for individuals and families who have met the Medicare Safety Net Threshold (up to 85-100% rebate, contact medicare for further information)
Medicare Rebate
Private Health
If you have private health cover you may be eligible to claim rebates on psychological services (speak directly with your fund to determine your level of cover).
You cannot use your private health insurance if you are already accessing Medicare rebates for your session.
Cancellations & Changes
Cancellation fees are something everyone wants to avoid, we get it!
If you're unable to attend your appointment in person, please get in touch as early as possible. We can usually arrange for your session to run by phone or video instead.
I ask for at least 24 hours notice (one business day) to cancel or reschedule. For example, if your appointment is at 11am on Tuesday, you'll need to let me know before 11am on Monday.
Less than 24 hours notice, or non-attendance, will attract the full session fee. There's very little opportunity to fill Monday or Tuesday appointments if notice is given after 5pm the Friday before.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare rebates aren't available for cancelled or unattended appointments.
A Few Common Questions
-
There's no threshold you need to meet to start therapy. You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need a diagnosis. Maybe things feel stressful or overwhelming. Maybe you're going through a big change, or you just want someone to talk to who isn't a friend or family member.
If you've got a Mental Health Treatment Plan sitting in a drawer, this might be the right time to use it. You don't have to wait until things get harder. Reaching out before things feel unmanageable is always an option.
-
Head to the “Book Now” section above to book online, or send me an email. No referral is needed to get in touch. If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, bring it along to access the Medicare rebate. Not sure where to start? You're always welcome to book a free 5 to 15 minute call first.
-
No. You can book or get in touch without one. A Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP just means you're eligible for Medicare rebates.
-
That's completely okay, most people haven't. The first session is gentle. You're in control of what you share and when. There's no pressure to have all the answers.
-
The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll spend time understanding your background, what's going on for you, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. From there, we'll work through things together using practical, evidence-based approaches at your pace.
-
Yes. All sessions are confidential, with information only shared where required by law, for example if there's a serious risk of harm. I'll explain this in more detail during your first session.
-
Sessions are conducted through a secure video platform. You'll receive a private link before your appointment. All you need is a device with a camera and somewhere quiet and private.
-
The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
As a general guide:
Short-term concerns: 6–8 sessions
Moderate or ongoing difficulties: 10–20+ sessions
Longer-term support: Ongoing, as needed
These are guides only - therapy is always tailored and flexible.
